About Me

I'm passionate about learning, innovative technology, and user-centered design that adds value to people's lives.

While I’m relatively new to the design field, I do have extensive experience in managing stakeholders, creating customer-centric products, both digitally and on the service level, and confidently operating in an international work environment.

When I'm not designing, I'm planning unique trips around the world, exploring the outdoors, or baking - preferably Swedish cardamon buns.

Experience

  • since May 2024

  • since 2023

Instructing bootcamp students on the Product Design Sprint, encompassing User Stories and Product Pitches, with emphasis on constructing UI component sets, Wireframes, and Prototypes in Figma.

Advising students on final designs during project weeks building a rails application.

As the bootcamp is tailored to aspiring junior developers, I love the challenge of advocating for the importance of good cross-functional collaboration between devs and designers and sharing my love for Figma.

    Student Feedback:

"Lena is burning for UX/UI. Really good."

"Lena is amazing. She is very passionate about Figma and brings that into the lecture and the working experience."

"It was a pleasure attending Lena's class. Her technical, presentation, and problem-solving skills were on point. I learned new things and felt understood and supported."

"Lena is amazing in Frontend and Design related questions. I loved her feedback and expertise when we were developing the front end of our two projects. She has an extremely welcoming personality and is very structured in her approach towards teaching."

  • April - July 2023

The program focused on gaining design proficiency in Figma building responsive design prototypes while learning about the holistic design process from research to handoff.

My final project Mahogany can be viewed in the Portfolio.

Memorisely also launched a learning platform in the summer of 2023 that has been an incredible resource for continuing to learn about UX and UI independently.

  • January - March 2023

Found my love for UX/UI design in a room full of aspiring developers. It taught me how to work collaboratively and cross-functionally and the importance of having a basic programming understanding to be a better designer with a holistic and inclusive design approach.

Built the ruby-on-rails application Voyage Planner within two weeks and was responsible for designing the prototype in Figma as well as working on the fron-end.

  • 2019 - 2022

I co-led a team of 15 and managed around 600 clients effectively while collaborating with the marketing team, and partners abroad to constantly enhance the customer-centered product of the High School student exchange program.

While this is no experience in design, I learned big lessons in navigating the corporate world, understanding different stakeholder needs and objectives, as well as the importance of efficient problem-solving and creating a trusting team environment, where everyone feels valued.

  • 2014-2018

As my studies focused on international business with a focus on tourism management, I learned a lot about marketing, measuring business success, and stakeholder management which is now contributing to my UX research and design process.

Studying abroad in Spain and completing a marketing internship in Santiago de Chile also taught me a lot about collaborating in international teams and adapting to new environments.
